Holly Cook - Flute
Holly Cook will be taking up the position of the Richard Carne Junior Fellow at Trinity College of Music in September 2011, where she will be specialising in ethnically influenced flute works. Holly works on a range of flutes and whistles, which she recently played in The Beggar's Opera at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. Holly has performed in many venues in London and the UK, including at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Cheltenham Town Hall and has a forthcoming lecture recital for the King's Lynn Music Society (21st September 2011). Holly graduated with a Master's degree with a distinction in performance from Trinity in 2009, where she studied flute with Anna Noakes and ethnic flutes with Tony Hinnigan and Andy Findon. As part of her studies she was awarded a Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship with Ileana Ruheman, principal flautist of the BBC Concert Orchestra. Whilst studying, Holly was awarded a Fellowship in performance and a Licentiate in flute teaching from Trinity College London. She works as a freelance musician and as a flute and piano teacher in London.
Ben Marshall - Oboe
Ben Marshall recently graduated from Trinity College of Music and is currently studying Orchestral Training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Whilst at Trinity Ben won the Harold Clark Woodwind prize and was the first ever recipient of the Evelyn Rothwell / Barbirolli Prize. He also received prizes from The Royal Philharmonic Society and The Wolfson Foundation. Ben has played with many different orchestras around London and is principal Oboe with Docklands Sinfonia and The Borasco Ensemble. Music has taken Ben all over the world, this year alone he has performed with orchestras in Guernsey, Belgium, France, Hungary, Austria, Romania, Bahrain and Japan.
Charlotte Webber - Clarinet
Charlotte Webber completed her BMus degree in 2009 at Trinity College of Music under Michael Whight and Fiona Cross where she was awarded the Wilfred Hambleton prize for Excellence in the Clarinet and the Trinity College of Music Chamber Music Prize. She spent her first summer out of college touring Europe, Japan and the U.S with the pop artist Ebony Bones on the saxophone. Since graduating she has been busy playing with various orchestras, opera companies, chamber groups and playing clarinet and saxophone in shows such as the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Charlotte specialises on the Bass Clarinet and her most recent work includes a BBC Radio 6 session & summer tour with the band These New Puritans.
Kathryn Allnutt - French horn
Having graduated with a 2.1 in Music at Manchester University in 2006 Kathryn Allnutt continued her training at Trinity College of Music, studying the French horn with Steve Stirling, where she gained a PGDip in Performance. In January 2009 Kathryn was appointed Co-Principal horn of Southbank Sinfonia, the UK's leading orchestral academy. In January 2010 Kathryn made her debut performance at the National Theatre in the 2010 revival run of Tom Stoppard and Andre Previn's play Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. Other freelance work includes BBC Concert Orchestra, performing with the band Snow Patrol and with the English National Ballet at the ballet school's end of term performance. A keen chamber musician, Kathryn is a member of the Vesuvio and Globe Wind Quintets, as well at the Purveyors of Sound Brass Quintet. She has performed chamber recitals at the Wigmore Hall, the Crush Room (Royal Opera House) and the Purcell Room. Kathryn has recently formed a new piano-winds chamber group, the Adaska Ensemble, with other wind players of Southbank Sinfonia 2009.
Gráinne Devery - Bassoon
Gráinne Devery hails from Cork city, Ireland. She completed a Masters in Music at Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban) in 2008, where she studied with Stephen Maw. As part of her course she was awarded a Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship with Andrew Stowell at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. In 2007 she won the Vernon Elliot Bassoon competition at Trinity. Gráinne has played with many ensembles including the Ulster Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, Orchestra of St. Paul’s and recently with the Bombay Chamber Orchestra. In July 2011 she performed Mozart's Bassoon Concerto with Kensington Chamber Orchestra.
